Longtime Lobbyist Donn Ellerbrock Dies

Former Lobbyist Ellerbrock Dead After Suffering Stroke While Diving
Donn Ellerbrock, the long-time lobbyist for the Associated General Contractors of Ohio, died earlier this month after suffering a stroke while he was scuba diving.
Mr. Ellerbrock, 69, died Oct. 9 in Miami, Florida. An experienced diver, he had been diving in the Caribbean, and was transported to Florida where he received medical care.
He retired from his lobbying post in 2009.
Mr. Ellerbrock represented the AGC for 32 years, helping draft a significant portion of Ohio’s public construction laws. He was also a member of the Board of Building Standards and was one of the initial members of the Ohio Alliance for Civil Justice.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Whapham Ellerbrock. He is survived by brothers, Tedd (Pam) Ellerbrock, Vann (Susan) Ellerbrock; sister, Mona (Bruce Winters) Ellerbrock Winbrock and many other family members. He held multiple degrees from The Ohio State University.
A service is scheduled for 2 pm, Saturday, October 28 at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington
